Introduction
The 2019-2020 year has truly been unlike any other.
From the devastating bushfires across Australia, through to the coronavirus crisis and its widespread economic upheaval, it has been a year of unprecedented challenges.
Everyone in Australia has had it tough. None moreso than those experiencing disadvantage already in our community.
At the Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL), we have worked hard and responded in new ways to support people who have been impacted by the hardship. It’s certainly been a tough year, but we’re resilient. And we’ve grown stronger as a result.
In this Annual Report, we share with you our progress over the 2020 financial year as we’ve worked to support those facing disadvantage and poverty, and as we’ve advocated to bring about lasting, systemic change to achieve our vision of an Australia free of poverty.
