Anna Venalainen

Anna Venalainen is BSL’s Director of Finance, responsible for the Finance and Commercial activities of BSL.

In August 2023, Anna joined BSL with 15+ years of operational, commercial, and financial leadership experience from working in IT, Technology and Energy sectors in Europe and in Australia. Prior to joining BSL, she worked as Finance Director (CFO) and Company Director at Siemens Energy, looking after Australia, New Zealand and Pacific entities. 

Anna started her career in Finland and quickly found her passion in building and leading highly performing finance teams, operating across Eastern Europe. In 2016 Anna moved her young family to Melbourne and continued her executive career at Siemens. With a deep personal commitment to equity and social justice, she has volunteered her time in the sector prior to joining BSL. Anna is a CPA , holds a Master’s degree (M.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration) and is a member of the Governance Institute of Australia (GIA). She is AICD educated and has completed a Certificate in Governance for Not-for-Profits.
