Executive Director Update - March 2023
Welcome to the first edition of the Building Better Lives newsletter for 2023!
In this edition, we're showcasing a range of our services and programs that highlight work we're doing with
low-income families, women seeking to get back into employment, and households struggling to manage the latest energy price increases. In all cases we aim to build their capability and assist in their journey out of poverty.
We also outline how we’ve used opportunities to influence policy at the Federal Government's Early Years Summit in Canberra, and through hosting a visit from members of Parliament at our SEED Project in Seymour. Other exciting events have been Assistant Minister for Aged Care, Ged Kearney MP officially launching our Clifton Hill Aged Care residence, and welcoming a new principal at our David Scott School in Frankston which provides access to education for students with significant barriers.
Wherever I look at BSL, I find passion and purpose amongst our staff, volunteers, and participants. As I head towards my one-year anniversary as Executive Director in April, I couldn't be prouder of the services and outcomes we’re delivering.
If there's one message I have for our supporters, it’s that without you our impact would be greatly diminished. Every bit of support – both big and small - counts as we continue to make change that lasts.
Warm Regards,
Travers McLeod
