New principal welcomed at BSL’s David Scott School
At the start of the school year, we welcomed Michael Scicluna as the new principal of the David Scott School.
Michael is an experienced educator and leader with a reputation for improving the life outcomes of marginalised young people through education. He spent 14 years at The Pavilion School in Preston as a teacher, Assistant Principal, and then as Principal for the last four years. During this period, Michael developed innovative programs to deliver best practice education for students who were no longer engaged in mainstream schooling.
Since commencing, Michael has been warmly welcomed by the school community:
“It’s been a real privilege getting to know the students and their families, along with the tremendous staff at the David Scott School. With 120 students enrolled this year, we’re excited to be a part of their educational development and help them flourish in the classroom and beyond.”
Michael took over the role from Stacey Bushell who has made an outstanding contribution as Acting Principal. Stacey successfully guided the school through the tough times for students, staff, and families during much of the COVID-19 pandemic. Stacey will continue at the David Scott School in her Assistant Principal role and is very much looking forward to this next chapter.
