In the two-minute video, Bernie, a member of the Brotherhood's Coolibah Centre , gives his take on SBS's much-debated documentary Struggle Streetwhile offering his own angle on disadvantage. 'I think you can counter poverty,' says Bernie. The Coolibah Centre, a place for older adults who have experienced hard times, is one of many ways the Brotherhood is working for an Australia free of poverty. However we know there is still a long way to go. The short video – captured on a mobile phone – is the first in a regular series, 'Brotherhood Stories', where people offer their insights on issues of poverty.
