This study investigated the impact of energy audits and retrofits for households that took part in the Warm Home Cool Home and Concession Assist programs in northern Melbourne.

The two programs aimed to address cost, information and trust barriers faced by low-income residents in improving the energy efficiency of their homes.

Participants reported positively on their experience and many also reported energy savings, changes to their energy use patterns at home and improvements in home comfort.

The programs were led by Moreland Energy Foundation Limited in partnership with the Brotherhood of St. Laurence, Moreland City Council and Sustainability Victoria, and funded under the Australian Government’s Solar Cities program.
