Socioeconomic background shapes the opportunities of the participants in the Life Chances Study at age 24.

This research update reports findings from wave 11 of the Brotherhood of St. Laurence’s Life Chances Study , a longitudinal study that began with 167 children who were born in inner suburbs of Melbourne in 1990 and has followed them even as they have moved elsewhere.

The young adults were surveyed in 2014–15 about the challenges and support they had encountered in education, training and/or employment.
