This report explores the challenge of recruiting staff to meet the needs of increasing numbers of frail older people and people with a disability who wish to remain living at home.

Drawing on responses from organisations throughout Victoria, it provides information about the current workforce and draws attention to a range of strategies which organisations need to consider in seeking to improve recruitment and retention outcomes in this important sector.

This report is a joint project of the Brotherhood of St. Laurence and the Victorian Association of Health and Extended Care (VAHEC).
