Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL) is proud to be part of Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme (CDS Vic), designed to transform the state's waste and recycling sector by offering 10 cents for every eligible container returned.

Return your eligible containers to our Breakwater Depot

Return your eligible containers to our Breakwater Depot, located at 6 Haworth Court, Breakwater in Geelong South, which offers a quick and easy drive and walk through service and digital refunds. It is hassle free as our machines do all the sorting.

You can choose to donate all your refund or part of it to BSL, to help support our critical programs and services that create lasting change in the lives of people experiencing disadvantage.

Hours of operation:

Monday: 9.00am – 4.30pm
Tuesday: 9.00am – 4.30pm
Wednesday: 9.00am – 4.30pm
Thursday: 9.00am – 4.30pm
Friday: 9.00am – 4.30pm
Saturday: 9.00am – 2.30pm
Sunday: 9.00am - 12.30pm The depot will be closed on Sundays from 24 March onwards.

Monday 11 March (Labour Day Public Holiday)

Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April, reopening Tuesday 2 April (Easter)

How do I get involved?

1. Collect eligible drink containers

    Most aluminum, glass, plastic, steel, and liquid paperboard (carton) drink containers between 150mL and 3 litres are eligible.

    Look for the 10c mark on the back of pack. Some drinks are not eligible, including plain milk containers, wine and spirit bottles.

    2. Return your eligible drink containers

    Return your eligible drink containers at our Breakwater Depot located at 6 Haworth Court, Breakwater VIC 3219.

    You can walk in or drive through to get your drink containers counted and refunded– just make sure you have downloaded the free CDS VIC West App app to get your refunds paid into your PayPal or your nominated bank account.

    You will also be able to return eligible drink containers to some of our BSL op shops and BSL sites in the coming months, so stay tuned.

    3. Earn or donate your refund to BSL

    There are multiple ways to receive your 10 cent refund. You can either keep your refund or choose to donate it to BSL, to help support our critical programs and services that create lasting change in the lives of people experiencing disadvantage.
