The first stage of this research developed a framework for identifying capabilities and enhancing social inclusion of older Australians.

It also examined, from the perspective of the Brotherhood’s aged service users, what they value in life and what enables them to live fulfilled and meaningful lives.

This provided a foundation for the second stage, Enhancing Capabilities, which included devising innovative approaches for aged care services that assist people to develop their preferred capabilities.
