We’re working for a just and inclusive community in which people with disability can participate as equal members in the community.

Together with the BSL Disability Services division, we work alongside people with disability, their families and carers to promote all forms of inclusion as well as social and economic participation.

We work together to influence each level of government and develop evidence-informed policies and practices.

This includes informing reform of the NDIS and disability supports outside the NDIS, alongside supporting increased inclusion in the community, which supports people with disability and their families in living a good life.

Our policy positions for disability
  • Strengthen the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with Disability in Australian policy-making to ensure that all people with disability have their rights upheld and to promote inclusion in the community.
  • Ensure that supports for people with disability outside of the NDIS (Foundational Supports) are appropriately resourced to meet demand and ensure that all people with disability have access to supports when and where they need it.
  • Promote inclusion for people with disability within mainstream settings such as education, employment and health to ensure that people with disability can be equal members of society.
